Jesus said, “Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.” Biology is not destiny. The blood relations which made one a Jew would not have the same force in the kingdom of God proclaimed by Jesus. It was doing the will of God that forged bonds of unity. Think about those who attend Church with you. They are not necessarily the people you would hang with, not people you are particularly attracted to, not people who think the same way you do. But we are all together as the People of God because of our common desire to seek the will of God and to follow wherever it leads. Being Church is what God does with the likes of us.
