“The LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as one man speaks to another.” It is no wonder that Moses is so revered in Judaism — that kind of intimacy with God is what we all strive for. To reach that point in our own prayer life Moses gives us a few hints. First, notice that Moses dealings with God are not about fulfilling his own spiritual needs. Rather, Moses is about the people. To converse with God we must be like God and care for all of those woven in our lives. Also, Moses is aware of the need for forgiveness. In our culture we tend to say “my bad” and then move on. Moses knew that forgiveness is a life-changing process.
