There is a show entitled “How the Universe Works.” It explains big issues about the cosmos. One topic that comes up frequently is the Big Bang, the current best explanation about the origins of the universe. Scientists explain what they can about the Big Bang but they don’t seem curious about why the Big Bang occurred, or what is the origin of the Big Bang, or what lay behind the Big Bang. If it is not verifiable (which is what science requires) they are not interested. I think the author of the Book of Wisdom would criticize them for that. S/he wrote: “For from the greatness and the beauty of created things their original author, by analogy, is seen.” Some true things are not verifiable!
